I think I broke my fs9 install

I think I have broken my fs9 install. it consistently crashes on shutdown as well as random shutdowns. Its very frustrating. Im thinking about building a new install on the same machine then copying over my scenery and aircraft and then deleting the original install (its 7 years old at this point). Are there other options? I tried deleting the fs9.cfg and letting it rebuild and that didnt help. I had enabled large memory and I backed that out still have the same issues. Im open to any other options.

I am always breaking mine, I normally just back up the broken one onto a separate HDD and install a fresh copy and then copy over the files I want from the backup too my new install. I find this is generally quicker for me than trying too figure out which particular bit of fs9 is currently sulking.
