got a samsung T260 hd 19200x1200 and with FSX (I have a Nvidia 9800 GT vc) I´m having a problem I think related to hertz frequency (horizontal interference lines) while on every other respect FSX, as well as other fligth sims, works fast and looks wonderfully with my rig.
as I can get no more than 60 hertz (I suppose 75 to 80 would do the trick) I wonder at what frequency most of you run FSX with no problems!

I am under the understanding that most resolutions at and above 1600X1050 are defaulted to 60 MHz....



I have severe ripples in my FSX only...Its so bad I can't even use it or FS9 now..So I quit trying....
 
My main monitor is a Samsung 226BW running at 1680x1050 60hz.

No ripples at all on this end.

Just for kicks...
Have either of you tried changing the "Filtering" setting in the default FSX Graphics menu to see if it has any effect?

Also, if your running Nhancer, you might try turning Trilinear Optimization to "Off" to see if that has an effect.
 
I use an ATI 4870X2...I have tried EVERY possible setting known to man...It all matters none......:banghead:

On a 19 and 24 inch at 1920X1200..........
 
As I understand it the frame rate setting should be numerically related to the refresh rate, so if your stuck to 60Hz then an upper frame rate figure should be 20 30 or 60 fps.

YUP...I'm set on 30 ........Have also tried unlimited too...And every one in between...LOl
 
I think most (all ?) flat panels can only use 60Hz for their refresh rate. What you're describing sounds like a problem I was having too. In my case, what I had to do was use the Nvidia control panel and change the global setting for Vertical sync to "Force On". Unfortunately, some versions of the Nvidia drivers don't seem to want to keep the setting and just keep resetting it to "Application Controlled". I'm currently using the 175.19 drivers.
 
Samsung 226B 1650 x1080 60hz vertical sink "Force On" in both Nvidia Control Panel and nHancer. No ripples here, FPS locked at 35, works a treat.


Using Nvidia 180.48 drivers.
 
Same here on my 226. V-sync forced on in both Nvida control panel and Nhancer settings. Locked at 30FPS.

hi RCAF, hope doing this would do the job, until now, I´m afraid, as harleyman, I tried all other possible settings and combinations outside this one to no avail so I suppose I must give it a try.....
also I´d like to use nhancer, need also to install forceware 60 to let it properly work? hope I´m not asking too much!
 
I am using Forceware Beta 180.60 just released. Nvidia 8800GTX Card.
AMD 6400x2 O/C 3.4 with 4 gigs DDR2 800mhz Ram.
Vertical sink Force on , works o.k. set in both nHancer and Nvidia Control Panel.
Samsung 226B Monitor at 60hz. Running Vista 64 Home Premium.
Very smooth no artifacts, 35fps set locked in FSX.

Hi bruce I have the last drivers for my GPU GeForce 9800 GT and in in my Nvidia control panel I can find no "global settings" at all so now, where could I find that "vertical sink" to change to "force on"? getting crazy with this rippling, you know from IL-2 to CFS3 to FS9 going through 5 other flightsims FSX is the only one causin' me these troubles....
 
hi harleyman, before this Nvidia 9800 GT I tried to install an ATI 4850 but my HP someway did refuse it so I had to switch to Nvidia which has no mismatch to HP drivers.
so i try to imagine if your ATI GPU has something similar to to the Nvidia control panel, and that vertical sink command or a similar one, which did the job and solved the problem I had only in FSX because other flightsims worked already perfectly.
suggesting to change GPU is not exactly what I would say but... having had that experience with ATI I think I had no other chance so maybe you also have to....
