    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Early 20th century there was a coachbuilder in the Netherlands named Spyker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyker ;had nothing to do with the sports car builder of today, just the same name.) who also built about 2,000 cars and some aircraft too. Today only 17 of these cars are known to have survived, and not all of those are complete. 16 Of those are in the Netherlands, one is in New Zealand and there are some rumours that two more cars are somewhere in New Zealand and Australia.

The 'newest' survivor, a 1906 15/22hp Tourer, was found three years ago in the jungle of French Guiana, and here is how it looked two years ago:







 
Impressive indeed Ferry.
And more to the point, it looks totally authentic, a tribute to the people who did the work.
Strange places some of these old cars turn up in, and this one survived in excellent condition, as in all the basics in the 'as found' shots show.
Spyker had a reputation for fine craftsmanship in their hey day and it shines through even before the restoration.
