In the market for a twin!

Some recommendations please? :wavey:
I'm after a small-medium twin, been thinking maybe the Aerosoft Twin Otter. Already read lots of reviews on lots of planes, but any comments from the front line are always appreciated!
I do mainly GA stuff, lots of country strips, commuter & cargo. Low & slow is fine!

The Digital Aviation Cheyenne from Aerosoft is also worth a look. It's quite a little systems sim, but can be flown happily without them as well.

I would say the 'Twotter' or the 'Twinkie'....both are great aircraft.

There is an excellent repaint kit available for the 'Twinkie' too if you are into that sort of thing.

I am part way though a flight from my nearest city airport (CYQG) to Heathrow (some 4,000 odd miles) in the 'Twinkie' and I am enjoying every minute of it. I am just building up the courage to make the huge leap from the eastern edge of Canada to the west coast of Greenland and need a good tail wind to get me there safely as it is close to the fuel limit (I am doing the trip in real weather too).

I am also part way through a north to south trip to every FSX airport in the UK and I am alternating between the 'Twinkie' and Lionheart's Epic as the fancy takes me. I have been able to get the 'Twinkie' into some very small grass/gravel strips with no problems so far if that is the sort of thing you like.

Definitely Aerosoft's Twotter or Eaglesoft's Twinkie.

The Twinkie is slightly harder on FPS, but has a very nice avionics suite, excellent detail, and outstanding flight dynamics.

The Twotter is light on FPS (comparable to default AC on my machine), has a nice variety of models, and comes with two different cockpits (one with modern radios).

You really can't go wrong either way. :jump:

Why not both the Twotter and the Twinkie. I love these two twins. I beta test for several software houses and these two are my favorite twins. Save some money for Lionheart Creations new Kodiak. That is going to be one incredible aircraft. Bill puts lots of extra eye candy in his aircraft. They are a lot of fun. If extreme realism is your thing. The Aerosoft Piper Cheyenne that IAN mentioned is HOT stuff.

I agree with you Ian - that Cheyenne is quite special and also hs some of the best lighting effects - inside and out - made for FSX to date.

Eaglesoft Twin Comanche for Sunday drives. Aerosoft Twotter when you want to bang about in tight spots in the bush.

The Twotter is currently still third in my "most flown" list, behind the CS C130 and a new entry - by virtue of every flight I do in it taking umpteen hours - the A2A B377. I started out doing a two-hour-per-stage flight across the US in the Cheyenne, but it's died a death recently, unfortunately.

While I'm here, I'll post the usual bit of shameless self publicity as well... ;)
