• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

When I try to make a gamematch account for online play on CFS 3 it says there was an error please try checking your interent connection, although it is fine as you can probably tell as I have posted this:greenbo:
Anyway can someone give me some advice on what I should do to resolve this problem?

I'm afraid you're out of luck on that account!
M$ shut down the game match server so the only option is direct IP connection MP games....the host will publish their IP address and you connect using that.
There used to be tons of threads about it until the big crash, but if you look at some of the stickies on ETO online games and PM some of those guys they should be able to help you out.

Ok thanks for that information, but, how are the Hosts starting their games???

ok,,,,figured it out...you deselct the box where it says something about posting your game in the directory...now all i have to do is figure out how to get on as something else besides player.....

When you first come into the multiplayer menu, click on the
upper right tab. Here is where all the setup options are.

Click on 'multiplayer options'. Enter your connection type - *important*
.......................................Enter location - can't hurt :)
.......................................Enter Call sign - so you won't be 'player'

This only has to be done once...unless you get a faster internet connection. :wavey:
