Joseph Cepek Mig-21U-400/600 project

SOH-CM-2024
Here is a new exciting project,

After completing the Mig-21PF repaint series, I contacted J. Cepek to know about his development of his Mig-21U.
As from now, the model is still under progress and he kindly sent me a beta of the U-400 model to start a paintkit for a repaint serie when his model will be ready.

So as from now, the model is not available neither finished and a future release will be at his author discretion. No timeline from now.

As far as I know, apart CaptainSim Mig-21UM, there were no U-400 & U-600 version ever made for fs9/fsX/P3D.
Considering Pepek modelling skills, no doubt this one is going to be a high end freeware, at least for fs9.

The Mig-21U-400 and 600 most recognizable differences are the tail fin : the U-400 was the 2 seater of the Mig-21F/F-13 (done by I. Jurcaga) and has the same tail fin. The U-600 has the wider tail fin of the Mig-21PFM
Finally the UM was the latest twin seater of the M/MF version with a periscope at the rear seat, a parachute housing on the fin for the most recognizable details.

Here are the first shots of the paintkit development :

Abacus made a MiG-21UB, but in FSX there is a support vehicle that blocks some background elements (and some parts of the aircraft) much in the same way old prop textures do so
I don't use it. I flit around in CS's if I want a go in a two seater (I just ignore the big black square). There is a fix for the AB, but I can't remember where I got it from. (Also, I use Ivan's sound set for it.) Can't wait to see what this one is like!

Pepek is refining the model, Pilots model were taken from his PFM version, they are now fully accurate.
