Liberty Belle in my backyard !!

Well....perhaps I exaggerate a bit.....

She'll be coming into the Sanford Lee County airport ( 20 miles south of me ) this weekend........Saturday & Sunday.

Unfortunately, I can't afford the $430 / 30 min. ride, but I'll be there for pics and t-shirts and knicknacks......

I haven't seen any threads from Witt lately. Does anybody know if he's on this "barn-storming" tour ?? It would be nice to meet him !!

It would be nice to get a SOH group shot in front of the "Belle".......
plus, I'll buy dinner and all beverages afterwards.

Heard about that on a modeling forum LD. Seen Liberty Bell before and have pix inside and outside.

Is there an official airshow going on or just Liberty Bell flying in?

I might consider coming down Sunday if there is an airshow. Only about a 2 hour drive for me.

No airshow, Caz.......just the "Belle" all by her lonesome.
If you've already got pics then its not worth the drive.

Well Lucky I have been keeping quite busy lately. I have been continuously working on the Liberty Foundation's Memberships. You wouldn't think simply transferring the work from one or two people to someone else would be so time consuming, but it is. I've also been building/maintaining the website for the Grimes Flying Lab, still volunteering on our own B-17, gone to work 11 hours a day, oh, and throw mainting a house w/ a wife, 2 girls under the age of 2 & a female dog.... there is enough estrogen in here to light up the town!


Other than that I haven't done too much.... So no I am not on the "barnstorming" tour, man I wish I was though... it would be a kickin gig. Unfortunately it is hard for a family man to take that kind of job. The guy that runs the show for us is one heck of a fella....

Definitely grab some "knick-nacks"...I would suggest the book by Dewayne Bennet...if you want a humorous, yet serious look at the life of a B-17 pilot.... A great fellow as well. Also, If you are a B-17 fan, you HAVE to get the book "Final Cut" by Scott Thompson... and its cheaper if you buy it from us than if you buy it from him I think... great book....

You should def. reconsider about pinching some more pennies somewhere and buy a ride though... Ask PRB, Gary, or others here on this forum, you won't regret it.... Hey, we'll take credit cards or a first born son....lol...

Make sure you share some photos with us...
