Look what this guy did when United broke his guitar!

The poor musician vowed revenge by releasing three videos about his experience.

Hmmmm... maybe Asus could use this treatment?

Hilarious! :icon_lol: This vid belongs on CMT! Thanks for posting this! :ernae:

I noticed that the broken guitar in the video ain't a Taylor... Looks like a Gibson Hummingbird! Ouch! :isadizzy:

This one's getting around. I've already spotted it on a couple of other forums I frequent. Neither of them aviation related.

They've got two more videos in the works about United too. Never tick off a songwriter!

Great video! I am not a musician, but can definitely understand this guy's frustration!

At the end of the video, they did state that "No Taylor Guitars were harmed" , or something to that effect. Cute.

Ironically, it may well be that United's idiocy in handling this matter may well result in Dave gaining far more international recognition for his talent...

It certainly has introduced me to someone I'd probably would never have known about otherwise! Man this fellow has a wonderful voice! :applause:

Heard on the radio today that United has taken notice of the publicity being generated by this song and video, that they are in "talks" over the cost of the guitar and the use of the video as part of their internal efforts to revamp their "corporate thinking". How true any of this is is unknown, cause we all know that the media is not always correct or honest.

That's a great way to handle a company that refuses to take responsibility for their actions or inactions. :ernae:

I've seen baggage handlers in action. When I'm sitting in an airliner at the terminal and have nothing else to do, I watch the baggage handlers load or unload planes. Yeah, I've seen them toss and throw baggage onto the loading ramp, sometimes it makes it onto the airplane, sometimes it misses and hits the tarmac.

Over here the ground personel works for the airport, not for the airlines.
Very much doubt I could blame KLM if something similar happened to me if I flew out of Schiphol airport..

Hi all; I don't know about the other guys in the car, but I think the guy who got his equipment broke was a Nova Scotian. Yeah, you can't mess with our fiddles, bagpipes, etc.

Mariereid you are correct, he is the lead singer of a Halfiax, NS based Band. I listened to a great interview with him on CBC Radio yesterday, funny thing is he gave up on any compensation last Nov after a year of fighting with United and now they are approaching him about "Special Compensation".

I am just wondering why he didn't work old Alexander Keith's into the tune... lol

I think that it differs by airline over here, actually - or perhaps different members of the crew work for different entities.
I believe that fuellers and guiders and the like - the people that get the airplane in and out of the airport - work for the airport and that those who load the plane with cargo and provisions - as in the case of Southwest (I know a baggage handler who works for Southwest), perhaps with United too, work for the airlines. Over here.

Great song! Its actually well done, and hillarious, lolol..

I hope it does well.

I will not trust United if I have baggage. If I have to go somewhere and I have a laptop or something, I will not go with that company. :d

United should have taken care of his problem the first time, waiting for a year to resolve the problem? Who handles customer service? Yes, there are times that some claims are not legit, but that does not affect the revenue, we know they (corporations) have a budget for that!

ASUS, you better look... you may be next!

Makes me think not to check in my luggage! :running:
