Mario Andretti's Lotus 79!

Kind of focused on the Wrangler rebuild right now. But watching this video makes me want to roll the Jeep out of the way and let the Miata free to terrorize the neighborhood:mixed-smiley-010:

Yes, at 1:35 starts the drive up the hill towards the "corkscrew". That view of the basic steering wheel and slicks makes me think I should walk down to the neighbor who has a shifter cart that might be a tad too fast for his kids/wife worries and make an offer!

I'm still wondering how that older Tyrrell/Elf passed him & kept on going.....:dizzy:

Technically the drivers are not supposed to be 'racing', one of the odd rules that came in way back and saw Stirling Moss black flagged!
Love that Lotus, and the Cosworth was music to my jaded ears.
The owner should have enlisted the services of 'Super Mario', I noted several missed shifts and more over revs than I'd feel comfortable with.
:triumphant:

And CP1207......."let the Miata free to terrorize the neighborhood"?:biggrin-new:
Must be a very quiet neighborhood.

No need to injure or kill yourself during a demonstration run...

Two years ago they drove chassis 79/2 and 79/3 at Zandvoort, one of the cars driven by Arie Luyendijk, to celebrate the 1-2 victory of Andretti and Peterson.
