• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

MAW and installing in windows 10

follow the subject title. no joy. is it like installing windows 10 and eto installation. following instructions included with maw download. are very ambiguous. please help. Brian
 
Please try to be a little more specific:

Doesn't it install at all, or does it install but not start or does it start and shut down immediatly?
 
Problems start when the installer does not copy files from cfs3 vanilla. Since you must use the thingy and run as windows xp service pack 3 and administrator is that the same in maw?. I tried installing cfs3 vanilla to many different directories and the non copying function still does not happen. I tried both methods of suggested installation and still no joy. do I have to run maw same as pto and korea and eto? If so do I make the change to cfs3 exe. and config exe before file copying starts . I really need a step by step help with this. thanks in advance Brian
 
yes i did make the change. question do I extract the maw zip into the combat flight simulator 3 file and run the install from there? Brian

One of the things with the MAW installer is that there is something in there that your security software does not like. Hence its best to disable your antivirus software before running the installer (this may IIRC be covered in the knowledgebase sticky, above).
