• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

For this year, my Christmas present (to me) was the Virtavia Tornado F3 which I snagged at Sim Market for less than $10. :wiggle:

This is a pretty solid download and almost everything works on delivery.

Got the footprint (front wheel height) fixed.
ATC now calls this plane a Panavia Tornado. :kilroy:
Fixed the stall and overspeed alarms in the sound folder.
Fixed the HUD in the panel folder (2D and VC).
Almost forgot this, you REALLY want to run the texture folders through DxtFixerX to repair the alpha channels. :indecisiveness:
Made a side trip over to The Owl's Nest/MAIW for AFCADS and callsigns, possibly some AI.
Made one last side trip over to Wiki so I could add the ICAO codes to each SQDN variant in the CFG file.

All in all, this is how I like to spend Christmas. :loyal:

I think thats one of the few Virty models i dont have. I like the look of it but wish'd they'd done a GR1 also.
But like you i like to treat myself to some payware at x-mas

I'm just doing some slight adjustments and it really was built for FSX with FS9 as an afterthought.

If you take the plunge, post up here and I'll share the little tweaks I've done.
Fixing the VC HUD was super easy once I saw the problem (just look for the "//" in the panel.cfg).
Just be sure you have DxtFixerX handy, even the repaints have funky alpha issues in the "lens" BMPs. :dizzy:
This package really feels like it was made for an earlier time before really fast CPUs and really big monitors.
