MilViz DHC-2 Update 170829 as N9028, flies from KHQM to KSEA

SOH-CM-2023
With this latest MilViz update, I am starting to see the potential available in this model. The FDE is starting to blossom and the MilViz is crossing off their to-do list to bring this model fully up to speed. I have spent several hours in and out of Bowerman (hopefully we will soon see the rest of my beloved Orbx Airports in FTX Central 3) and believe I have flown it enough to appreciate the work that has been done on improving the flight characteristics. The model is still a WIP for me, however, it is now one that I will now regularly fly- much different than before v170829, and so I thought I would share what I saw this afternoon on the way to Sea-Tac. The plan is to overfly Vashon and then continue into KSEA....

Gunnar's superb N9028 livery has also been updated, and so here we go...

Remember being a kid, and standing on your tippy-toes to peek over the airport fence and get a better look? I do....

After warming up with coffee and Flap-Jacks at Lana's we warmed up the engine and lined up at Bowerman....

Being light today (2 tanks full and 1 pilot on board) I decided to use only 30"... would that prove enough?

Yes, it was! The key was to remember to pull the prop back to 22 smartly.....

Here we are at 3000 and running east to begin our left turn to Vashon...

Many of us PNW aficionados have waited a long time for this sight.... it is lovely indeed!

...and here we are overflying Gower Field... I just can get enough of Orbx! After this last sale, my wife asked if there was a support group I could join.... not quite sure what she meant....

...and here's the Bridge to Fox Island....

... and here's Wax Orchard getting ready to slip under the left wing....

... and here's Vashon...

I have some time in a Maule, and the MilViz wing does a great job of depicting that aggressive avian STOL look... nice! Now, will the guys in the cab at SeaTac give me permission to enter their airspace for a fly-by? Wonder what landing fees there are nowadays...?

Here's KBFI on the nose, and the Space Needle off the wing... very well done...

SeaTac was very clear, as long as we stayed West of 16R, and as long as we promised to continue downwind until they could get the freighters established on 34R down and vacated, they too would like to peek at a DHC-2.... seriously, I think the Tower Boss is a frustrated PNW lover, stuck looking but not playing... so fingers x'ed... here we go....

Here's the beautiful mix... urban asphalt and unspoiled wilderness, all in 30 minutes- brought to you by Orbx, Taxi2Gate and MilViz... not a bad way to spend the afternoon...

Two Reds and Two Whites... and a LOT of asphalt ahead.....

Stopped with a mile to go... and the rain grooves looking groovy....

Again, special thanks to Gunnar... she's quite lovely in the early morning light... and late in the afternoon when the sun's all gold.... and at night when she glistens with the wet night air.... well you get the point... I love your repaint!

Best- C

You should have landed on the taxiway like Harrison Ford did in his Beaver :biggrin-new::

''I'm the schmuck who landed on the taxiway...'':wiggle:

Hey, you flew right by my house! ;-)

Nice shots... glad to see ORBX is making the move to v4... by the time I get around to building my new sim computer, most of my beloved addons should be compatible lol.

Where can we find that Beaver Repaint?? It's a Dandy... I had a desktop model that looked just like it.
