• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Komatipoort is situated on the eastern border of The Republic of South Africa, it's the home town to one of the most important border posts in the country. The “Poort” consists of the circumference of two major rivers ie. the Komati and the Crocodile rivers which after joining up, flows into a narrow gorge through a gap in the Lebombo mountains. The gorge also provides a way through for the main N4 Highway route (and Lebombo border post,) which leads to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The Airport was closed during the 1990’s for public use and for a short period of time, only used by military aircraft until it was finely closed permanently for all aviation purposes in the early 2000’s, after which the terrain was used by the Dept. of Customs and Excise for the purpose of load clearance and by Road Traffic Control for weight control on vehicles using the N4 highway. The airport nevertheless is still available to us, the aviators of Flightsim and it is an airport very frequently used by simmers when touring the Kruger National Park situated directly north of the town of Komatipoort.
