Hi all,
Just got the first edition of this new magazine.
http://tankscompetition.deagostini.co.uk/home.aspx
Came with a really nice model of a Tiger Tank in 1/72 scale.
Magazine is a bit thin but the model is excellent.Especially as it on cost £1.99 for the first edition. If you subscribe you get a really nice German half track tank transporter.

Hi Jagd,
The magazine is a bit lightwieght. But for the scale the Tiger is excellent.Even at £7.99 for each model that is still £2.00 cheaper than buying a seperate equivilent model.A friend of mine has just ordered 35 Tigers from them.He is into desktop wargaming.Said he could not get models this good for the price. He is waiting for the Panther,Jagdpanther,T34 and JS1 to come out.Likes the russian front.
I bought their Combat aircraft collection magazine and was not disappointed by the models that came with it.
There were 32 a/c with that magazine.not sure howmany tanks there are.i keep seeing tanks in the TV adverts that have not been shown on the website.
Looking forward to the tank transporter being delivered.

Hi Jagd,
Just a couple of pictures of the Tiger for you.
And a picture of something to open the can so to speak.

The Tiger was one huge tank.

I often get them confused. Do some have a different turret? I notice some called Tigers and have round turrets, and others have a turret with curved sides and flat back and front, sort of like a row boat shape.

Have you seen that show on Discovery based on repairing and restoring old Tanks? Pretty interesting. One show, they rescued a tank hull that was underwater since WWII, in a pond somewhere. It had sunk during a combat moment, having turned into the pond by mistake. They pulled that baby apart and started rebuilding it. Amazing that it would last that long...

Tons of torsion bars in that suspension. The entire floor was torsion bars running left to right... (It was a British tank, the kind I dont remember).

Hi Lionheart,
The one in the picture is a Tiger 1.The other you mention is the Tiger 2 or more commonly known as the Kingtiger. They were used in the Battle of the Bulge.
If I remember right the tank they reconstructed was a Panther in the TV show.
