New PC

I am going to buy a new PC for MSFS2020/2024. How important is it to get 64GB RAM instead of 32GB or is it important at all?

That's a really hard one to answer - and my response is solely geared towards a benefit for FS24. I upgraded from 32GB to 64GB after I installed FS24. Any improvements I saw (or see) on a day in and day out basis are likely minimal. However, when I pull up any "stats monitor" while running FS24, I have such an "overhead" of unused memory (vs. when I only had 32GB) that I can't help but think that there's some performance benefit to having 64GB. I think that a better video card with more VRAM will give you way more bang for your buck, but RAM is so cheap these days that if you can afford the extra AFTER prioritizing other components, I say why not...
There are quite a few YouTube videos I've seen comparing 32GB to 64GB of RAM when running FS24.

Everything today is produced to be memory intensive and hungry. If you don't get the max allowable, you'll be cursing your limitations later.

I am much like Priller, when I had my son build my PC for the future, so I had him install 64 GB RAM. I have read that it is not absolutely necessary unless one plays in a multiplayer role, I do not. But also I do a lot of graphic work that involves up to 5 windows being opened at the same time. There the 64 GB of RAM is appreciated.
