New Short Sunderland MkIII flying boat for Fs9/CFS2

Shessi

SOH-CM-2025
Hi Folks,
One of those I've been working on for ages. Based on, and very kindly allow by Ted 'Nachtpiloten', the mixed mkI/III/V CFS3 Sunderland. Took it into FSDS, added/modded it to a proper full MkIII spec, fitted the VC, re-animated everything, made flaps act as real Gouge flaps. Re-doing the VC panel with new gauges. Now on the downward leg, but a decent Sunderland for Fs9 and CFS2.

Cheers

FSX..Acceleration...P3D......PAHHH!, real men fly Fs9 and CFS2..;)

Absolutely!!! And to fly a plane like a Sunderland in CFS2 takes GUTS! All that aside, looks pretty good so far Shessi, Glad to see you're still puttin' them together. Amazing how much the Sunderland looks a lot in part like the Shorts Sterling.

Thank you so much for still supporting FS2004!
We tend to be like the old forgotten parents tucked away somewhere.

Much appreciated.

My flight jacket still has salt residue from the PBY's, Emily, and Do24. Bring on the Sunderland! :biggrin-new:

Really looking forward to this one, Shessi. By odd coincidence I was just this afternoon looking at the CFS2 version I have in my copy of FS9.

I read somewhere the Sunderland's wingspan was the same as the Stirling's because of the commonality of some of the parts, as you mentioned.

Having memories of seeing Sunderlands flying, landing, taxiing, taking off, and having wandered around same, they are one of my favourites. Big, roomy cockpit, cavernous mid section, cramped rear turret and fascinating pulley and hoist system for deploying bombs, depth charges etc.
Looking forward to this sir.

A taster, nearly there....

Just done the exhausts and a nav moving head. Still a bit of tex work, LODs, lighting and for CFS2 a DP.

Cheers

Shessi
