Only “rivet counters” should download these textures!!!! :costumes:

This is a set of primary F-86F textures redesigned with extra added details for the original released edition of the ‘SECTIONF8’ North American F-86E/F Saber package (sf86ef.zip). Almost every feature of the fuselage exterior model has been revised to some degree such as the front windscreen section, sliding canopy frame, .50 caliber machine gun bay panels, gun ports, jet engine exhaust section, horizontal tail fulcrum connecting points, etc., etc.

The Sabre represented by this set was F-86F-30NA 52-4387 flown by (then) Maj. Howard R. Ebersole, USAF; 12th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomb Group while stationed at Osan AFB, Korea in 1953. Major Ebersole flew 100 combat missions with the 12th FBS (30 in the F-51 then 70 in the F-86F) and was its Operations Officer. He shot down one MiG-15 in this airplane. After retiring from the USAF, Colonel Ebersole was a life time member of the F-86 Sabre Pilots Association, The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Soaring Society of America - Sailplane Racing Association and The Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame. The F-86 that is the centerpiece of the Selfridge Military Air Museum, Selfridge ANGB, MI is marked in the colors he flew with.

With special thanks to Jan Visser for his support, and Steve Bryant for providing me with the motivation needed to complete this very special set of textures in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Howard R. Ebersole, USAF, Deceased (8 February 1922 - 4 January 2005).

Note: Textures are in DXT3 format to preserve frame rates.

I saw these right after they showed up in the download section. Magnificent job, Cliff. Thank you for this repaint honoring Col Ebersole.
Beautiful. Great to see you're keeping you're hand in.

Best regards,
Steve
