• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Orcas Island Scenery

agreed . this one is so far my favorite scenery add-on for FS9 . you can't go wrong with this one .
only problem is , it is not being sold anymore .
 
That's weird, I was pretty sure Simmarket was still selling it, but when I went through all the FSAddon options, it showed nothing under RG or RG2, so I messaged Francois to ask him about it. . . .better go send him a "never mind" message, lol.
 
had to mess around with html code, but using the above link, some editing, and a saved copy of the file on my computer... I managed to buy it...

save the above file "fsaddon-orcas-island.phtml.htm" to your computer, open it with notepad, delete everything between the "<head>" and "</head>" brackets, past the following code into the file anywhere
save the file, and reopen in your browser - you should then be able to order Orcas Island from Simmarket.
You will still have to pay for it!
but simmarket still has the files - I just as I type am installing from an installer I downloaded 5 minutes ago.
 
Just because you can buy it doesn't mean you should expect support. Francois announced that he was discontinuing it, and no amount of hacking the HTML is going to change that.

I know this.

My intent was not to cause problems for Francois, only to help those here who wanted it. I figured it was not pirated if I paid money to the original publisher for it (if through simmarket...) and led others to do the same.

Please correct me if that notion is in error!

unfortunately no. We were selling perhaps 1 or 2 every 2 months or so. The cost of all the extra work of administration simply didn't justify it being available any longer. . . . . . . . . I must sadly admit.

There weren't any plans to upgrade it to FSX technology either.

By all indications, as per Francois and Bill, this addon is no longer available, by any means. Best to leave well enough alone.
