This is for dutchies around here only. OT too, hope i'm excused.

At ONS, Tuesday 18-07, 12:30-13:35, 'ONS Nostalgisch Uur: Luchtvaart'.

More than an hour full of dutch aviation nostalgia loaded with unique historic footage of KLM birds, particularly long haul flights with the DC-4, Convair 240 and Connie, but also Schiphol thru the ages and beginning of the jet age. Commentary is particularly interesting too. :)

Also unique footage of MLD training facilities ( Ryan PT-16, land and float )

Usually there are re-runs of this kind of programs during the coming weeks. If you can recieve ONS ( lots of providers including KPN and Ziggo base pack ) take a look. Highly recommended ! :encouragement:

cheers,
jan

I must record it the next time its broadcasted, because I'm at work now......

Cheers,
Huub

I wish i knew about it earlier but i kinda stumbled over it, Huub. If you check 'Ons Nostalgisch Uur' in the coming days (perhaps even weeks) there's a good chance it's a re-run of 'Luchtvaart'. As opposed to seeing footage of restored vintage propliners today it is quite wonderful and interesting to see these magnificent silver KLM birds and their crew on the job. Puts an exclamation mark behind the fact that we're living in 'n 'age of science fiction'...

Cheers,
Jan

WOW!! That's just fantastic, Manfred !

I didn't know this, i must get out more... :)

Btw, are you dutch ?..
Thanks so much again ! :ernaehrung004:

Cheers,
Jan

Hey Jan,

Yes I am dutch. I know the German name threw you off.

I have been living in the USA for the past (almost) ten years.
That is why Google is my best friend for when I am looking for any dutch broadcasts, or actually... anything dutch aviation related.

Loved the broadcast as well as the dutch language the way it was spoken in the days.

Happy flying,

Manfred
