Playing FSX-SE without internet connection?

Hi all,

If I should buy FSX-SE, would I be able to play the sim without internetconnection? I've read that you get a code that is checked every time you start the game to be sure that you're the real owner, but I don't want to be on the internet so often.

Regards, hertzie.

Steam does have an offline mode. I always run FSX offline, and haven't had a problem yet. The Steam client apparently does all its updating and checks whenever you get back online.

For me it makes sense to play in offline mode (unless multi player is your requirement) FSXSE is never going to be updated any further so being Steam connected is redundant. Furthermore, I have had the devil of a job on occasions when FSXSE has crashed and getting it to restart as Steam reports it to be still running and two instances of the program are verboten.
