Playing with 3d models

Something I have been playing with. Learning to create cockpits for older models that may be lacking some detail (to my way of thinking). Far from perfect and I have a long way to go but its fun. Now I've just got to see if I can animate the necessary bits.

Mike

Thank you. As a much wiser man than me once said, "A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step". In this case it was a single tube. For one of the seats. Just grew from there, one part at a time. Sometimes over. and over. and over.

I've done a couple for myself because I did not have the author's permission(couldn't locate them). However it really is HARD on some models and I commend you for doing this.

Wow, nice work! Hopefully you're seeking input at the FSDeveloper community. Everyone there is a great help for any of your questions.

An update. I've spent the last few weeks grappling with crashes as I tried to save the mdl files in ModelConverterX. It seems you can have too many triangles. So spent hours going back over my base models optimising the parts and removing rear faces etc.
So now have a (slightly) slimmer model (338948 triangles) that compiles without warnings and hopefully has headroom for the parts I still need to add. Haven't even tried to animate anything yet. Still learning.

Cheers
Paul
