polished metal textures

Can someone point out some standard values I can use for polished metal textures in FSX? I know I have to adjust the normal and the specular files? Should I only work with greyscales? Which ones?

Thanks for any help! It is highly appreciated!

Cees,

Not sure if it will help, but I uploaded a comprehensive paint kit by Nigel Richards for the Harpoon that contains both bare metal layers as well as normal paint layers.

You can find it quickly by clicking the link in my signature box.

Since that is for FS9, it may not be what you need for FSX.

Would Gordon's paint kit not help for the F7F conversion he did? It had lots of bare metal work there.

Aside from that, PM'g Gordon or a visit to FSDeveloper might get you the info you need.

EDIT: See if this helps:
