Preserved flesh of 2-million-year-old human ancestor found?

His jaw must have dropped when he examined the material before him. It was a rare find. So rare, in fact, that, if what he was looking at was really what he thought it could be, it would be the first and only evidence of soft body tissue from an early hominin ever discovered.......soft tissue from an early (possible) pre-human ancestor nearly 2 million years old (back in the DOS days).

Also give's new meaning to "I'll be a monkey's uncle...or aunt". LOL

KD, would you really want to scare the living daylights out of the poor thing by cloning him or her?

Hmmm...wonder if the DNA is intact then? If so they could do a Jurassic Park and recreate ancient man.:icon_lol:

Nope; the skin was "mineralized", no biological matter left, no DNA...:kilroy: But the skin structure was preserved, which is promising.

What I found of even greater interest is the "open" politic of the discoverers. Rather than keep their findings to themselves, they are ready to share with other specialists and come to a consensus before publishing. Internet is changing mentalities, even in the scientific method.:applause:

Nice find. I really am into the history of things, after viewing it a couple of time he does look like a few of our members...lol...Mike
