A 787 and 747 flight with the performance monitor running...

That RTX 2080ti is running at over 90% and looks to be using just about all of its vram to support 4K. 70C too. Not everyone has a 4K display, but those Ti cards are easily $1200 to $1900 depending on the retailer. Won't complain about $40 payware anymore.

Note that Nvidia has an event coming up on September 1 where the company is expected to announce its next-generation cards (either 30x0 or 21x0 series). https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/special-event/

Those should bring the cost of 2080 Ti-level performance down, as well as boosting top-end performance.

AMD is also supposed to be introducing their next-gen "Big Navi" cards in the November timeframe, and these are rumored to be more competitive performance-wise with high-end Nvidia cards than AMD's current cards. If that's true, then we could also see some price competition coming into play, something Nvidia hasn't had to deal with for a while.

Having done this stuff in real life, I am not 'blown away' very often in a flight sim program. However, when I saw those wings flex on takeoff, I was 'blown away.'

I think Microsoft could sell this graphics engine to game developers. Might replace the Unreal engine.

Lastly, the guy's i7700 CPU was practically idling. He was GPU limited. That will be a new paradigm for us simmers.

Looks like I'm out. Here is an article with benchmarks. My 1050ti is equivalent to the r9 380 they benchmarked for a low end system. Kind of disappointing but not unexpected.

Unfortunately I did not get time to do a full FPS test during the beta.

But I am using a 3700X, X570 mobo, 32 DDR4 and GTX 2080S (all at stock speeds). Everything on max at 3440x1440 was butter smooth, apart for flying over NYC during a thunderstorm. Not that it was not smooth, but it did take a small performance hit (link in very small) - no stuttering or anything what so ever.

There were no difference during day or night.

I decided to purchase anyways after seeing some YouTube videos of it running on a gtx 1050 (I accidentally listed mine as a ti version). I have been pleasantly surprised at how it runs and looks even at low settings! My specs - gtx 1050 4gb, I5 7300q, 8 gb ram.
