Radial sound package.....

Anyone know of a REALLY good radial sound package for single engine aircraft ???
Thanks,
LD

Which radial engine in particular? Lawdog3260 has done some amazing work that covers a lot of radial engines, US, British, German, and Japanese. Mike Hambly's package for the R-985 is amazing (ba_gbr.zip on flightsim.com). There is a sound pack for the Texan in the FS2004 section (by Doug Smith) that rocks big time.

I use the sound pack from Milton Shupe's Spartan Executive in many different aircraft. Besides loving the way it sound, it's from Milton and so it's got to be great.

One that I like a lot is Lawdog's F2A3 sound package for single engine ac.

I also use the F2A3 package for a good number of aircraft. That pack represents the Wright Cyclone 9-cylinder radial, and comes with the cartridge starter and the inertia starter options. The Wright Cyclone was used on a ton of aircraft, from single engine aircraft like the Fairchild F-91 all the way up to the B-17.

I also like this; it's an oldie but a goodie. Goes well with 1930's fighter planes for some reason, especially Ivan Hsu's Hawk III:

FS2000 Generic Warbird Sound Set. Features the Wright R-1820-30 750 hp engine. Warbird enthusiasts will enjoy this set, it's loud and accurately reproduces this powerful engine's sounds. Sampled at 22,050 16 bit mono. A FlightSim.Com FS2000 Gold Seal Approved sound set. By Mike Hambly.

I also use Lawdog's F2A Cyclone sound, but for my Vega. I know that the Vega does not have a Cyclone in it, indeed the cfg file implies it's just a Wasp in there. However the Cyclone as done by Lawdog has a bit more 'oomph' to it; it just seems right (or maybe Wright? hehe...)
I'll have to check out those Texan sounds you mentioned OBIO; IIRC Texans were Wasp powered too...thanks:ernae:
addendum: Tried out the Texan sounds. Very good fit for the Vega. Will likely work well on the Air Express and Orion too (except for the Air Express Gilmore which has a Hornet; Lawdog's Cyclone sound would likely be the best fit for that one). Good find OBIO, and thanks again :)
