• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Sad News

Our fellow member and contributor Randy Daniell (rdaniell) passed away last evening at 5pm. His son John was kind enough to let me know.

Randy enjoyed flying around his home area of south Georgia in FSX and managed to learn scenery building techniques that enhanced his area. He has been a real life pilot with experience in Cessna 140s and once used to own an Ercoupe and a Luscombe. He was a Vietnam vet, a C-130 loadmaster, a psychologist and a retired, but still active pastor.

Most of all Randy was a good friend an old style pen-pan whom I wish I had the chance to meet in person. He will be sorely missed... RIP Randy...

Randy and I swapped a few files back and forth, when he was still flying FS9. Sad to hear of his passing. Blue Skies Forever, Randy.

I'm so deeply saddened to learn of Randy's passing away.

My prayers and thoughts are for his dear wife and family.

I'll sorely miss you, Randy!

A friend tells me that Randy served in the USAF, enlisting in the early 60’s and rose to the rank of Sgt. He served in Vietnam and flew in an AC-130 during the Blind Bat missions over the Ho Chi Minh trail. He was also a pastor and gained a degree in psychology. Besides that, he was just a brilliant guy.

The simming world is poorer for his passing.
