Some budgie shots for Ferry

Cazzie

SOH-CM-2024
Ferry is not the only one who loves birds. They were my first love at age two. Here are a few shots of my fluffy budgies. All post-processing was done using Photoshop 26.6.

The Nuthatch was captured coming down the oak tree to eat. I used a 200-mm Nikkor zoom lens on my Nikon D5500 DSLR. In Photoshop, I cut out the bird and the tree and saved the cut out as a separate layer. I made the original layer transparent and painted in a new background layer, then merged the cut out layer on the painted layer.

The Indigo Bunting was done the same way, the bird and its roosting branch were cut out of the original photo and saved as a new layer, then the original layer painted in and the saved cut out merged with the painted layer. I used the Nikkor 200-mm zoom and my D5500 DSLR. I used a sturdy tripod mount for both this and the above photo.

For the Cardinal, I used a standard Nikkor 300-mm zoom lens with my D5500 on a monopod. Nothing special in the post-processing except adjusting color, tone, and contrast. I also adjusted the color levels just a tad.
