CG_1976

Ret. US Coastie/RCAF
Need some help. I had to due a mint install of XP Pro Sp3 on my new HD's. Everthing went great but i have no sound. This my beta testing computer.
Compact stock Sr1920NX
Improved with 500gb hd
1.75g ram
nvidia 8500 512mb
Sound is realtek

I tried the drivers at hp site support by bring up my model and they dont work, no sound. Heck not even X-plane 9 will start. Thankfully FSX will. I hope someone can help me please.

What operating system do you have? Try uninstalling the sound card driver then reinstalling it.

Since your sound is Realtek I presume it is onboard sound and not a sound card. Open your BIOS and make sure you have selected onboard sound. You may also have to open the Realtek control panel and select your desired sound output configuration.
