Stock FS9 Vega Improved Flight Model???

Mick

SOH-CM-2025
Has anyone ever made a better flight model for the stock Lockheed Vega?

I tried to fly the Vega yesterday for the first time in the fourteen years I've had FS9 and found it unflyable. It accelerated (as a pilot once described the F-89) like a barge pulling away from a dock, took almost a mile to struggle off the runway and never got up out of ground effect before it settled back to the ground and crashed. It did this several times as I tried to refine my take-off procedure. Hopeless!

This is a model of a plane that was noted in its day for snappy performance! Augh!!!

The MSFS Vega is equipped with a big fuselage extra tank for enormous range. By default, the plane is loaded with 100% fuel. If you unload the center fuel tank, you will see, that the plane actually behaves more like the fast airliner it is reknown for. The Vega is a good example for how load influences performance.

Best regards,
Christian

Ah ha!

I will remove all that fuel and see how she flies.

Thank you!

EDIT:

Tried it, emptied that big tank, and she flies great!

But I guess I won't be flying the Atlantic with AE...

Thanks again!
