Technical Question

In CFS3 there are simulation messages which can be disabled via cfsconfig. I am talking about the blue and red messages apearing on the top of your screen.(German airman hit your gas tank//You hit German Airman//Waypoint 2 reached etc.) I know there is a way to disable all of these messages but is there a way to disable part of them? To be more precise I want ALL of the combat messages to be disabled (the you-got-hit-there and you-hit-him messages) and keep the waypoint messages and the radio messages.
Is there a file that you can alter to make this work?

hi gousgounis,
the thing you want can't be done as far as I know. So I think you either have to work on your language skills, or read though that list if you've been hit. So it's all or nothing.
By the way, for reaching waypoints you can also use the in-game map (M). That's how I find waypoints in OFF, works rather well.
good luck,
RW

RW02 is correct. You either have all the mesages or none of them. I have never heard of a way of editing them.

Hi Gousgonis, you could try editing the configoverrides.xml under your Application data pathway. Back up first, of course.

There are several parameters you could experiment with - DisableWarningBoxes, DisableAdvisor, DisableSimWarnings, DisableLabels, DisableWarningBoxes.

Don't know if this will get you anywhere, but it would be interesting to hear how you get on. :wavey:
