anyone have any thoughts on AJ Allmendinger?....all i know is what i heard on saturdays brodcast, and what ive read since on jayski.com ,i think he is a good guy so im hoping it was a mistake,,,like a antihistimine he should have declaired or something....ofcourse my dad doesnt like him and is saying he is very erratic and trying to crash he beloved kyle every corner (the mans delusinonal) and he is sure AJ has been high o meth with mayfield all along...

my dad has almost ruined the only sport i like ( yes its a sport to me)when i raced,my folks went and watched, but werent "in to it"..didnt help me at all, wouldnt even let me talk to my sponcers during the workday while at theyre shops, would interupt or say we had to leave,,cut me off,but now both of them..mom and dad, love racing, nascar sprint cup mostly, and dad is a huge kyle busch fan since my childhood friend works for JGR,and is on the "18 team" now,if kyle gets loose on his own, nearest car is the 99 three car lenths back...i hear..."you see the *&^ carl?..he just tried to take the air off kyle and wreck him!! i hate carl",i miss most races now because all we do is fight,,,,according to him, everyone is out to get kyle, and if i dont agree, then im a hater too and i dont mater....

oh gosh...end of rant.........so how about aj?:icon_eek:

Maybe he actually drank some of that 5 Hour Energy stuff shortly before he gave a urine sample. :icon_lol:

Seriously, if he ate anything that contained poppy seeds he would turn up positive for drugs (heroine). I know someone that had that experience, never used drugs, but had a positive test all because of some poppy seed muffins.

Okay, sample B is +. Now what? Best take the rehab NASCAR offers. He may get his license reinstated afterward but he will play hell getting a good ride again.

Will he come he clean or will he take the Jeremy Mayfield route? NASCAR has placed him on an indefinite suspension, but so far A.J. has only said that they will get to the bottom of this matter... sounds familiar.

They always say that admitting you have a problem is the first step. I haven't heard him admit it yet.

He has already signed up for the NASCAR rehab program, something Mayfield never did.

His agent said that was just to best utilize the time while they are waiting for more test results and it did not mean he was admitting to taking illegal drugs.

Is it a problem if it was his first time?
(i.e. for the person who only drinks on Christmas but gets busted in a DUI on Christmas Eve, does the person actually have a drinking problem?)

Yes, he had already gotten in trouble for a DUI when at RPM, and he knows NASCAR has a zero tollerance for drugs. So he does seem to have a problem controlling himself.

Since I don't have all the facts, I'm not going to jump to a conclusion...one way or the other...
(On a side note, Al Unser Jr from what I've seen has had the most amount of problems....to his own admission, everything went downhil with him the year he didn't qualify for Indy..)

I'm not taking sides either, AJ seems like a nice enough guy. I just wish these youngins would show more common sense when taking an action that will affect their entire future. And your right about Al but AJ was doing fairly well for Roger. If he was depressed it must have been something other than racing.

Observation Only (no conclusions):
-Kurt Busch (Penske Driver)
-Allmendinger (Penske Driver)
-Unser Jr (Penske Driver)

Penske has let AJ go, hope he can get his chance to race again, but its up to him now.

Prior to the firing,
I seem to recall Kyle Petty saying a return to IndyCar was AJ's best shot....In retrospect, Penske appeared to hang on to Al Jr much longer....
