No re-chipping, no NO2, no slicks.. just keep it mellow and only ONE NASCAR sticker on the battery box... we don't want you getting pulled over by the County Mountie!

Congrats on regaining your mobility... as you know, it's a precious thing!

Well, I guess you probably can get away with using yer cell phone while driving :icon_lol:

Seriously, I'm sorry to hear about all the hardware. Hang in there, and congratulations on being able to get around. I hope things work out!

Daveroo, I'm glad you are able to regain some mobility. My prayers and thoughts are with you, my friend.

Daveroo,
What's the combat radius on that thing? :icon_lol: Awesome news! I'm sure this chair will increase your quality of life. Congrats!

Hey All,

Dave I'm really happy to see something go right for a change! Next time a guy on one of those in the left turn lane (Yes they do that where I live) and I have to follow him through a light won't bother me as I'll realize it may well be someone in your position. Thank You for the reality check.

I am happy for you and I am glad you are getting your mobility back, and I am not trying to be downer, but you will need a van with a ramp or lift to get the most from your powerchair.

I do not handle Medicare anymore so I am not trying to steal your business, but I dislike Jazzy to the point that I refuse to sell them. To tippy and crappy battery chargers. The battery chargers are one Pride product I will sell because we sell a ton of them. They last until the warranty is up and since we sell them cheaper then almost anybody, well you can imagine.

Congrats on getting you power chair. A few years back I was a driver and errand runner for a guy with some pretty serious physical disabilities. He had two power chairs (one at home and one at work)...and when he was getting ready for work in the morning, I would hop in his power chair and zip around the house in it...the thing had some pep if you knew how to drive it...which he did not..kept running into furniture and walls. Luckily, there were few times that I had to transport the power chair, but on those times that I did, it dismantled into easily handleable parts....other than the base with the motor, batteries, and stuff...that thing was HEAVY and a real bizitch to get into the back of my GMC S-15 Jimmy.

Once you get the chair and regain your mobility, you will see a dramatic change in your life....it's all good!

Good luck with your power chair! I'm due for an implanted spinal stimulator shortly. I'm praying it'll work as well as the anecdotal info says, otherwise, I'll be going the way you are. If so, maybe we can get together for some races.:friday: Do you remember the Seinfeld episode with the scooter chase scene? George being chased by oldsters in their scooters.

Good luck and easier living, my friend.:ernae:

no way!!!!! don't listen to sir galahad!!!! you can do a tim taylor to your chair, and make it look like this:

HotRodWheelChair.jpg

Couple of mods needed cheezy...
Intake screeen so it doesn't ingest his pantlegs.
rollbar
Recaro seat w/ headrest.
redesigned footrests to create more downforce.

And don't forget the colour-coordinated HANS device!

With a bit of practice Dave you won't be watching airshows, you'll be the featured attraction!
Oh.. and that STP logo.. should read SOH!:rapture:
On a more serious note for a moment, I saw a scooter here that had a "roof" that looked like it was just a sunscreen, but it actually was a large solar panel that helped charge the battery.

Congrats and hope you get better, Daveroo ! My wife had to use a power chair after a knee surgery and she was glad to have it while she recovered. However, the NASCAR side of her tended to come out whenever we got into an open space !

Glad to hear that you're getting mobile again !:applause:

thanks for all the well wishes.....but i gotta say ..about all the nascar and other comments...as bigga nascar/racing in genral fan that i am....no racin for me...after two years in a hobby stock and 8 years switching from sprint cars and late models....ive had enough...lol..

one time back in the day (mid 80s) i was on a half mile mid banked oval..(dirt) in a big block sprintcar..we didnt go by 360/410 then..it was basically open..i dont remember the cubic inch..but the horsepower was dyno'd at well over 1200hp at the rear wheels...dats alot for a sprint car...it was a heat race i was in second and they were using a radar on the cars...new toy then...and had just clocked me at the line at 180+ ...i threw the car into the corner and heard POW as the right rear exploded..a nanosecond later i was 12 feet of more in the air and sailing over the wheel fence and out into the main parking lot...i landed upside down on the roof of a sedan (thank god for wings)bounced off the sedan and into the bed of a pickup...distroyed both of those vehicals..not to mention the race car...and didnt do me much good either....soooo..my racin days be over....lol

Dang David!

You are lucky to be alive man! Taking out two cars with your body and living to tell about it is a pure miracle.

Great to hear about your new car, errrr wheels. :d Should be awesome now to be able to move about with freedom and no pain.
