• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

up and comer..Alexander Rossi,,from my hometown

Teams sign up young talent as a 'Test Driver' in an effort to keep them away from rivals and as an 'incentive' for the 'Official Drivers' to give 110%.
Unless Rossi has a shipload of sponsorship money he'll most probably remain a test driver.

you are probably right.....but its still cool that a "local boy" has done well enough to make it to this point,,,Scott Pruitt lives down the road from me,Brad Sweet is from Grass Valley and is either married to,or engaged to a friend of mines niece( im unclear if they have gotten married yet or not) scott speed is from central cal,and so is AJ Allmendinger,as was ernie ervan,,and mike skinner is from susanville, not that far away from me..there was a kid ( whos name just escapes me right now) who was from west sacramento ,he ran nationwide for awhile for harvick but he wrecked alot of cars and got fired...then he got married and i havent heard his name since....then theres paulie harracka,,,he is from back east but he came to roseville to drive for macNalley and ran roseville alot,he is now in trucks..

and then ther is me....i got a call in late 1983 to go to the charlotte area....guy said if i worked in the shop a year or two....i was good at chasis work at the time...i could work my way into the drivers seat in the then "busch series"......but i was running sprint cars out here at the time, and didnt want to work in the shop and "take my chances" for a ride....so i turned it down.....

i kick myself often
