• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

US Navy protocol, the "Chief" says........

Navy Chief

Senior Member
The Chief noticed a new Seaman one day and barked at him to get over here.
"What is your name?" was the first thing the Chief asked the new guy.
"John," the new guy replied.
The Chief scowled, "Look, I don't know what kind of bleeding-heart, liberal pansy a.. stuff they're teaching Sailors in bootcamp today, but I don't call anyone by their first name. It breeds familiarity and that leads to a breakdown in authority. I refer to my Sailors by their last name only - Smith, Jones, Baker - that's all. I am to be referred to only as Chief. Do I make myself clear"?
"Aye, aye, Chief!"
"Good! Now that we got that straight, what is your last name ?"
The new guy sighed and said, "Darling. My name is John Darling, Chief!"
"Okay----------------- John, here's what I want you to do..."

:costumes::costumes::costumes: I think the Chief was correct . Darling would not go over real big especially within an ear shot of other NCO's now would it ?:icon_lol:
