• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

USS Theodore Roosevelt in SD Bay

SOH-CM-2025
I watch the San Diego Web cam a lot and today captured the USS Roosevelt and the John Lewis in San Diego, I think the Roosevelt is on a post yard trials and will pull in and out of
San Diego. I get to watch live arrivals and departures of all the mil and civ ships. Very interesting to watch. I left SD back in '75 and it sure has grown since then.

Edit: The TR is now docked at SD. Here you see the crew manning the rail. Been there, done that looong ago.

I wonder why the sailors are holding their white hats while manning the rail?

My guess is it was windy and those dixie cups have stripped left hand threads.

I watch the TR that day turn around and go back out past Point Loma and things got bouncy real quick.

I might add that the TR was shifting Home Port to San Diego after completing an 18 month maintenance period.
