Vintage Peddle Cars!

I had a US Army Jeep. Though it was pretty cool when I was a kid. Not sure what happened to it.

So did I :encouragement: I vaguely remember driving it off the small bridge over the ditch linking out home to the street and coming out smelly less than roses. We lived in Richmond BC :canada: then which was below sea level hence the ditches @ 1959/60. I remember being hosed down by my Dad in the back yard before being allowed back in the house. :biggrin-new:

Hi,
Is this the kind of thing?...!

I'm the early Jim Carrey haircut one sitting very casually on the bonnet.

Why has it started adding the same picture again?

This is the Fire Chief pedal car model my aunt bought me for Christmas so long ago. Picture reflects a restored model. Going dig thru a album to see if I still have a pic of it.

Found the Christmas pic with the Fire Chief car. Back in the day six shooter cap guns were cool!

Okay, this is too much fun. I took down a montage my parents made for me many decades ago so I could scan in this picture taken on my birthday in 1951. I had just turned two and they thought it was time for me to learn to drive... :very_drunk:

You know I had never noticed that they bought me a "used car" at that. I guess my dad having just gotten out of the Navy and started working for the CAA couldn't afford a new one. But that's okay! I sure as heck didn't care back then, so why worry about it now!

What have we started here

That looks like the one I had, but I remember a green colour with just a white star on the side, no S&B. There was a U.S. ARMY on the hood sides and on the back of the body, with a smaller white star. The wheels and the little rails on the back were a dead give-away. I had three step brothers, all younger than me, and the venerable ol' ARMY Jeep saw action from at least two of them as well. Those were the days.....
