Weird system start message-AVG.

I run AVG free (version 2011) on my Vista service pack 2 32 bit computer, have done for ages. Lately I get this strange little message on each reboot, no info at AVG FAQ's. Is it a windows thing ? what the hell is it ?

AVG, while a good freeware anti-virus program, has several anomalies associated with it. One of those is that if you add or subtract programs, or if it has corrupted virus signatures, it will go all weird on you.

Only solution that I have heard of is to uninstall (through the control panel) and reinstall. Should clear it up.

Ok. Thanks TS. There is a later freeware version for 2012. Might go ahead and install and see if it will go away. Only REAL problem I have with these things is the lack of common language explanations as to what they actually are and what they do.:isadizzy:

Edit: The freeware 2012 version upgrade got rid of the problem ! weird things.

MS have an excellent free one of their own which I have used for ages now and never had a problem. AVG I found often had false +ves.
