• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

What gives, no videos?

All of a sudden I can't play some embedded videos here, no response to right or left clicks. Tried playing the FiFi one and some others but nada. Something at my end?

Have you upgraded to IE 10? If you have IE 10 is a problem with the forum software.

My advise is if you upgraded to IE 10 and it is your problem use Firefox or another browser. IE 10 has a lot of problems.

No way would I have IE10, even if I had Windows 7. I use Google which I try to keep to a known good version but some times updates get through. It's hard when the world is rushing ahead and you just want to sit at the station for a spell, you know to enjoy the view.

I'm currently using Chrome and it seems to be working for me (knock on wood). I just got done watching the dragonfly video before I got to this thread.

So the problem was technically at my end, but credits for the source go to Google Chrome. There are two Flash Player versions;
the un-edited one: Macromed\Flash from Adobe,
and the one you get with a Chrome install, said to be made to "work" through Chrome best: PepperFlash.
Well, heh heh, you know how crazy funny those zeros and ones can be. Yeah well anyways, turns out that the PepperFlash has been the cause of numerous player issues and the typical recommended fix is to disable it through 'about:plugins' typed into the chrome url bar box, forcing the use of the Macromed version. It seems SOH sites needs PepperFlash at least on my machine so for the indefinite future I will have to choose players continually depending on which site is open, or until Chrome fixes the bug. Hope this helps anyone else having the same issue.
