• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Just what is this paticular file and is it a master default file?

I ask because it seems some effexts i have dont work. Such as seeing fire.
 
Doesn't look right....possibly a default effects file whose name was changed by an addon aircraft or something? I know that some of the addons I have installed 'change' certian conflicting files (by re-naming) so as not to create a conflict. Hope that helps.
 
It is an effects texture file that goes in the effects texture folder.
Double Left click it ,it should open up to show what it does .
I don't have that file , I have fx_1.bmp , 2 , 3 and 5 in mine .
 
Actually, to see all the bmp's characteristics, it is best to open these with Imagetool. You will see the MIPs and the Alpha channel attributes.
 
Tim, I agree with Felix. Some addon's been messing with your default files. Just re-extract them off CD1 and you should be fine.
