There is pretty much certainty that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (former Craftsman Truck Series) is in its last year.

GM, Ford, and Chrysler have all withdrawn financial support for the series and Toyota sees little point in continuing on with the market sales of large gas-guzzling pickups shrinking.

The Milwaukee Motor Mile, the oldest existing continually used racetrack in America is likely to lose both IRL and NASCAR sanctioned races due to withholding of payment to both series.

There is series talk that Petty-Ganassi Racing will have Kasey Kayne in a Toyota in just a few weeks as Dodge has withheld payment to the team and R-GR said they would switch unless money is upfront from Dodge soon. Thias rumor has been denied, but you do the numbers.

Shame if the 'Milwaukee Mile' loses out on the current cut-backs.
Some of the best CART oval track racing took place there, along with Phoenix and Nazereth.
As for the pick-ups ...... or 'utes' as we know them, I could care less.
In fact, it would be a plus for me if the Australian 'Ute Series' followed suit!

The sad part about the "utes" is that in NASCAR, they are the nearest to actual "stock" vehicles and the racing is much more competitive than any of the auto series.

Nascar won't get rid of it, but it will turn more towards the roots of a large Nascar event at a small short track, like the beginning when it ran tracks like Saugus, and Bakersfield.
