'Why Are....?'

:kilroy: dude ! I had that too and no one knew what I was talking about. :kilroy:

do you also see a huge cone of light pointing straight down from all of your AI traffic flights (dusk/night)? they look like ufo's ? do you see that effect also?

I got rid of it by uninstalling LockOn / Flaming Cliffs but don't ask me how that did it.
I uninstalled that and Modman the utility for installing addons to LomaC and then when I fired up FSX after that - the light pans where gone. :kilroy:

Its the halo.bmp in ur texture folder, if you haven't seen this before panther then something you installed replaced it. (I dont remember if default looks like that or not?)

I had this same problem, and replaced it with another one I had edited,

open the bmp with DXTBmp and you will see that "glow" area,

I don't know why, but mine do the same thing.

Do your lights show up on the ground? Mine don't and the taxi lights barely show up either.

Bandit, maybe you could email that corrected file out?

ActiveSkyX?

More likely XGraphics - that's one place you can set the way lights appear in sim.

Maybe you "told" ActiveSkyX to "install X-graphics textures"?

Gents, I too have a feeling it is XGraphics....I installed it recently and have had the same issue with all landing lights, AI and regular.

yeah - come to think of it - I disabled much of Xgraphics when I uninstalled lomac - that must be it.

Panther, do you have Lewis's Shockwave Lights for FSX? As I recall it install a new halo.bmp.

Caz

Looks like the culprit was XGraphics - did a quick restoral of the original textures then chose a new theme without the light stuff and all appears well...:redf:

Tks everyone again :ernae:
