got two new projects going right now a P-61 and a B-25 Mitchell

pictures soon! tell you one thing the P-61 is a hard model to work with so many parts and the planes harder to do to the way the planes build its weird like a big P-38 :d

Yes, please!!!! Someone needs to do a P-61. The last completed one I am aware of is the Abacus one. That was a ways back, too.

Here is my B-25

Hey Cratermaker,

Check out Kaz Ito's P-61's.....in the download section of flightsim.com. They are very good on the visual model..

Aha, a closet plastic modeler, hey! :costumes:

A lot of us, Piglet included dabble or have dabbled in styrene. I still do, but my styrene binge doesn't start until January and runs through May. I'll complete around five models in that time span. By May, kids are out of school and it's full-blown nice weather, so you'll catch me out on my bicycle when weather permits.

The last one I finished this past May was the Eastern Express (former TOKO mold) 1/72 Sopwith Strutter. Made my own instrument panel in Photoshop using skillz I've learned from doing FS9 repaints. :d

Some shots, in progress and completed:

wow! nice models, every one! i keep threatening the wife that i will start building them again, and now that i have seen the mitchell i might just ask santa for one. my early christmas present arrives this afternoon. when it arrive's i'll post a pic.:wavey:

I'll have to get a picture for ya of the P-61 we have Cirrus. But that won't be until I get up to MAAM. You can see it yourself at maam.org. ;) Hope you make a skin of "Double Trouble". Bob Fili was the pilot and is a member at MAAM.

BTW. If you need a beta tester I volunteer. :d

Nice piece of work CM, take a few more piccies and post them here. :ernae::applause:

Caz
Thanks. Not as good as yours though. I guarantee you won't see as much detail in a close up as yours!

Masking and painting the glass areas was insane on that one!

I'll try to take some more pics. I have a Do335 I'm kind of proud of.

Good Job!

I haven't dabbled in styrene in so long .... I still have a half built 1/72 scale B-17 sitting in the spare room.

I'll admit to being bitten by the old styrene bug again!
Roden and their 1:32 series of Great War kits are to blame!
Painting all that Lozenge fabric is a bitch, as the decals just don't cut it.
Makes a nice change from beating sheets of brass and aluminium into complex compound curves!
:d

A note re those 1:48 B25-B17-P61 models etc, RaG have been re-boxing these 25+ year old Monogram kits, so don't expect too much.
Ancient modeller's tip of the day when it comes to Revellogram, sand off ALL those dumb raised panel lines first and scribe in the basics ......... :kilroy:
And Caz, as usual, you get both ears and the tail for excellence in model building in the Munchkin scale!
:applause:

Thanks Cheezy. MAAM is a lot of fun and hard work. Especially that first weekend in June for our annual WWII Weekend.
