Any of you guys got either one of these consoles. I have been looking at the PS3 to kill some time also it plays blueray DVD. I brougt Linda's son a Xbox 2 years ago but it done already burnt up. He played it everyday. So I was thinking of buying 2 of the PS3. One for me and one for him...any info you guys can give me...Mike

Mike- :wavey:

I was looking at the same thing myself. I was going round and round between the Wii, PS3 or the Xbox. I asked some of my employees, and all of them highly recommended the PS3, more so because of the Blu-Ray capability. Of course, the game console has great reviews as well. The Xbox has a higher repair rate than the PS3. As far as Blu-Ray goes, in it's category, the PS3 takes it hands down. With that said, if you are JUST looking for a Blu-Ray DVD player, then you have LG that makes an awesome one for around $800.

Hope this helps! :jump:

I've had a PS3 for about a year now and although it was expensive as hell (bought it before the price began to fall) it was definitely worth it. About the Blu-Ray capabilities, as far as I know there's still very few dedicated BD players that can even match the playback quality of the PS3 and they're a lot more expensive. Effectively you get a BD player with the best quality to price ratio out there and as a bonus it doubles as the best gaming console on the market. Quite a win-win situation.

I'd rather stick pins into my eyeballs than have one of these abominations under my roof..........................:d

Hey Moe,

I've got both and primarily use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray DVD player (which it does very well and as an MP3 player since it's hooked into my audio system). I'll have to admit that since Blu-Ray emerged, I've become quite the HD snob as far as DVD purchases are concerned.

The selection of games that I'm interested in is greater on the X-box 360 so it gets more use as a game system. Game selection is getting better on the PS3 as time goes by.

Prices are coming down on the PS3 so if your looking for a Blu-Ray player for the home, you can get a 2-n-1 with the PS3.

I have a ps3 and two games (Madden 08 & MLB 08). Games are expensive but the Blu-Ray is a nice touch, as is most ps3 games use 1080p graphics. :ernae:

I don't know about the needle in the eye ball...but I am sure if you are into that kind of thing I can arrange it for you:costumes:...back to my question...the SP3 I have seen at cutomers house look very good in detail...Mike

Look at it this way.

Do you like good game selection? Buy a Xbox 360 or Wii than. Xbox 360 is more teen to adult based games. Wii is more family based games plus you can buy old Nintendo game from NES, SNES, N64, NEOGEO, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16 in virtual console and it will play Gamecube game.

Do you have lots of cash? like no game selection? and showing off to your friends. Buy a PS3.

neither, get the WII, then grab a couple of friends and have a good laugh :d

Drunk Bowling and Boxing is funny as :censored: to watch!:d Steping on the dog an geting barked and growed at. Family Fun.:icon_lol:

Xbx360. Xbx Live is the best for multi-player games, but that's my opinion. Currently having a lot of fun with GOW2.

LMAO... same thoughts Wombat. Tho I have been bowling on the Wii and it was a lot of fun. But it wasn't mine. :d

Well if you want the blue ray ps3, i guess youve already considered switching your entire movie collection to them, as in buying them all over again. na not for me. had enough of that after the vhs to dvd switch haha. the xbox definitely wins the online multiplayer and game selection sections, as said before. Wii is cool, but everyone i know that has one, usually has one of the other systems as well, therefore they never touch the Wii, except as also stated, they start hitting the juice, then it really shines:d! also a tip if you go for the xbox...get the vertical stand that has a fan in it...viola, no more overheating problems...i have one, works great, even has a built in charger for the controller battery pack.

My niece and nephew have the Wii. Gotta tell you, the whole extended family has a blast with the bowling and other motion sensitive games. It definitely gets you up and off the couch.

Do all of the three big ones count?

My two boys have all three, the eldest prefers the X-Box 360, the youngest prefers the Wii. The PSP3 is more a travel toy.

I do have PS2 and PS3.. I also used to have PS1. so yeah, my extremely biased answer is PS3. there might be less game for now, but atleast you can use the machine unlike fixbox360, that spends most of the time at shop.. in addition, there are few arcade flyers, like Ace combat. Hopefully IL2 BoP will be more of a sim.

To be honest I know nothing about X-box or PS3. But if I ever need to get any Blue-Ray stuff, I'll look into a PS3.

Lionus, I like your YouTube link. :d :costumes:
