Xbox vs. Sony Playstation3

I really like the DVD upscaling on PS3. This makes regular DVD's look much like Blu-Ray movies. Most of your present DVD collection will look better than ever before. Other than that, you might decide based on which system has the most exclusive game titles you prefer. I have both systems. I get classics and arcade game downloads for both systems for my grandkids to play. I've had my 360 since launch without overheating problems but it isn't used very often or for long periods of game play. Still, I will always worry about the red ring of death problem. No worries with the PS3.

This is the same problem I have with my buddies. They all bitch and moan about the xbox problems, which is overheating, yet whenever I tell them to shut up and buy the fan, they nod and move on with their lives. And don't buy the fan. Then bitch if and when their box goes broke. Honestly, Everyone i know that uses the fan stand hasn't had a single problem. I dont understand people sometimes. Its 25 bucks.

I bought the fan when it first came out. I also lengthened the bottom side supports 1/4 inch to allow better air passage. Still...... it's something to cause concern and should be considered when making a purchase.

true, it is a concern for some, but at the same time, theres preventative measures, and microsoft extended all 360 warranties to 3 years. i aint concerned. its covered.

PS3 is the best choice and I’m not just saying that because I have one.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Put it this way, I have a good friend who is a hardcore gamer. He has all 3 (Wii, 360 & PS3) He will always buy the PS3 version of the game when it is released on multi format.<o:p></o:p>
He is also on his 3rd Xbox 360 and this is a very common story.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
The Blue Ray option is just the icing on the cake<o:p></o:p>
I also believe that you have to pay to play multiplayer games on Xbox live<o:p></o:p>
No such charge when PS3 multiplaying on the PSN (Playstation Network)<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
As for the Wii, its novel and fun to play BUT it is not really a "Next Generation Console"<o:p></o:p>

I bought a 360 because I got tired of PC Games, always updating etc. My 360 did over heat, but Microsoft quickly replaced it. There is just something to be said about being able to just drop a disc in the tray and play! I had to reinstall Pacific Fighters on my PC a few months ago and it was dang near impossible to get the right series of patches and in the right order.

I am currently playing COD 5 and End War on my 360 and I wouldn't have it any other way!

He's behind in the schedule then. True hardcore gamers have their fourth or even fifth 360.. and judging from the stuff on the 360 forums, even the new models that weren't supposed to RRoD, do RRoD.. AND scratch the discs. :d

Well I ordered two of these>> http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4151704&CatId=3401 the second one is for Linda's son. He done burnt up the Xbox already....will be sending that in for repair anyway, but I guess he can play with the playstation while he waits...and yes I will get stuck buying him the games too:costumes:

Great purchase! Man that's $100 less per unit than I payed during the launch 2 years ago and you got a game with them. You also got 160GB hard drives compared to my 60GB! Well done.
