NC, I use the wing tip spoilers all the way down the pipe. Keeps the RPMs up for a go around or bolter, and if I need to dump speed I just ease back on the throttles till I get what I want. But the best approach is the one that works best for the guy at the controls at the time!

Wow these are beauties. Which A-6 intruder version is that? I have an EA-6B I like to fly from Razbam.
 
Indeed they are. You'll probably find more repaints for the Razbam model than the Alpha/Virtavia model.. check out the library here;) I have all versions from both Razbam and Virtavia but Steve's paints and mal999's revised FD tipped the balance toward the Alpha/Virtavia model for me. It's not so 'sharp' inside as the Razzer model. The original FD's on both are similar enough to be peas in a pod. It's only when you look at the PK for the Alpha/Virtavia model THEN look at what Steve produced that you appreciate just how good his paints are:encouragement:

If Duckie repainted the virtavia bird, Im getting that one. Thats enough repaints for me. :)

Ok, update... based on just fact that Duckie repainted this one, I just purchased the Virtavia A-6E. Where can I find Steves repaints? I searched here and didnt see them. Also the amended Mal999 FD.

Thank you very much Eric. I am humbled by your remarks. You can find my A-6 repaints in the FS9 library in the Cold War section. Just search for submitter in ascending order. You'll need to convert them to dds format. Also the tank set up doesn't work in FSX like FS9. I'll pm you the set up.


@ DaveB ... I took from your last that you had it figured out. PM me if I'm wrong and I'll include you in Eric's.

Alpha/Virtavia A6 Intruder onboard the Aerosoft Kitty Hawk.
One thing I've only just noticed is that the FD crew on Kitty seem an idle bunch. No movement from the launch crew at all.. they just stand there!! Other than that.. love it.

You got me searching for it too Wombat; but I couldn't find it using FTX with OpenLC.

Using some downloaded PR and some quickly manufactured mesh, this is as close as I have come so far:

You can actually see ships at either end of it along with heaps of ships in the bay heading towards it.

Yup.. everything you could need in a show. Ships.. aircraft.. and Catherine Bell:jump:

Rab said he was coming in with 1000lbs of fuel and the skipper of Seahawk gave him 42kts over the deck. OK.. Rab had lost hydraulics to the brakes and intended to stop using reverse thrust. The need for me to touch the brakes was too great though in all honesty.. I reckon I could have done it using just reverse with only 32kts down the deck. The most difficult thing was getting the 130 to turn and burn using only the centre (one of the centre) tanks!!:biggrin-new:

Difficult to see what was happening in the first couple of shots mate. I first thought you were doing a low fly past with an engine out due to the lack of ground shadow but now.. I'm not so sure (eg, aircraft cast shadows off, you were on the deck just starting up). It doesn't take much to confuse me:dizzy:

Lovely scenery isn't it and the perfect place for a Cat to play;)
