A little help w-Anomalies

You are right Siggi, we are saying similar things. Thanks 77-Scout and Pol, for the further info, very helpfull. Scout, I think I will go back and play with that tick box in terrains and see if it helps at all, that might be it. And Pol, I know my card isnt the best, its an nvidia eg7300, but I'll bet if I stick some more Ram in there a lot of my frame rate issues will depart.....except of course for the freezing after mission completion and the "home warp". That ones still a mystery. I'm running the highest res I can 1280x1024, and still have all my slider on 1 or 2. Ram I think may solve some of this. I think I saw 1-gig for sale online for around $20.00. Maybe thats the next step.

ZZ,
I have been having similar issues but only when I rotate my POV too quickly using TrackerIR. This was present in P2 to a greater extent. The Support staff told me it is due to running out of video memory. I have a 8800 GTS 512 vc, my setting are posted in the thread below. Some folks with VC's better than mine still have the "triangles", it is CFS3 thing, I am told. Everyone here has given the right advise: lower sliders for scenery and terrain, limit background apps, more system RAM, ect. That being said, your 7300 vc is going to struggle with this app, no way around it. Just have to keep tweaking and playing with it, until you find it's "sweet spot". Hope this is of value....

My, My The times they are a changing. I guess I'm old-fashioned, a month back I was right ! :kilroy:

Well, gimpy - you are right for OFF2. But OFF3 has it different. In fact the OFF folder is not through Program Files any more.::gossip:

For those of use who installed over Phase2, the install is still in the same old place (program files/microsoft games)...or at least that was my experience.

I hear rumours that clean installs go to a shiny new OBD folder. Ahh, the times they are a-changin.

I briefly had this purple square terrain thingy when I first installed OFF3. When I looked in CFS3 config, I noticed that in addition to "disable write only index buffer" and "disable write only vertex buffer" being checked, "disable vertex buffers" and "disable index buffers" were also checked. When I unchecked the latter two boxes, the purple haze disappeared. Might be worth a check.
