B-50 Monitor Gauge

Some questions.

1. Can this be a copy/paste to Manfred's L-749 along of course with the necessary windows in the panel cfg file? I love the ability to individually start the engines.

2. I would like to permanently re-position the gauge window from the top of the screen, to the bottom. I tried adjusting the "y" value in the panel cfg, from 0.05 to a maximum of 0.999 which only drops it to the middle of my screen. If I select any value beyond 0.999, the window returns to the top of my screen.

3. I notice in the aircraft cfg under Autopilot, that the "auto throttle available=0", yet on the Monitor Gauge Autopilot section, there is an entry titled "Speed". to which you can set a speed. With the Autopilot activated, when I click on "Speed" (which I have preset to 200 kts), all engines retard to idle. I changed the setting in the aircraft cfg to "1", but it made no difference. Clicking on the "Speed" command still retards all engines to idle. What am I missing here?

Thanks

1. It never hurts to try to move the monitor. Probably a combination of copying [window03] and don't forget any necessary panel gauges and sound files/gauges.

2. See if adding position=8 to the [window03] for the monitor. it might drop it down when you hit Shift+4.

3. I don't think that SPEED has anything to do with the autothrottle or lack of.

4. Manfred's Connie is quite capable of starting the engines individually.

This is using position=7. Add slashes to //window position=. You will still need to drag the monitor lower if you need to.

Yes, in my experience Monitor migrates quite gracefully, even to such strange creatures as a C172 and a 737.

The Speed hold button is a bit tricky admittedly, I must make a note to look at it again to make it more intuitive. At this point you cannot pre-set a speed target value.

What should work is the following procedure. You take off normally etc without using it. But once in a steady climb, or cruise, or descent, you can click it on, either by a simple click on "Speed" or a middle-click on the value. It should then activate (white color) and indicate and maintain the current speed. From this point onwards you can dial in a different target value, and it will slowly adjust throttle up or down until reaching the target. Don't forget to turn it off before landing!

Just want to take the opportunity Manfred to say in addition to be one of the very best freeware modelers your monitor gauge is a terrific addition too to flightsimming. Thanks!

Thanks Manfred for your reply.

I am still puzzled why I can not reposition the Monitor gauge from it's default location to anything below halfway on my screen. With the "y" co-ordinate, a setting of 0.999 only positions the gauge halfway down my screen. Select any value beyond 0.999 and the gauge returns to its default position of 0.50,0.050. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Just click on it and drag to where you want it! For the rest of the flight it will pop up into that position! It's probably because you are trying to re-position it in a VC and not a 2D cockpit.:encouragement:

Makes no difference what the background is. 3D panel, spot view, tower view, etc. I permanently re-position pop up windows all the time in other aircraft panels to any location I desire. This window will not go below the half way mark no matter what values I select for the "y" value. Yes, I could drag it to the bottom but I'd like it to automatically appear there on selecting Shift-4. Have you been able to do so on your screen? :wavey:

Nothing more than shown in my screeshot. The monitor panel is only popped up when needed. It's never up for the whole flight.
