Would Surprised if in his none interest in SIMMING...he has a great set up for instruction...I E-Mailed him .Told to expect an inquiry from you Shared this post and Pics hope this Jogs him Vin
Actually, I sent him the pic from this thread that shows the vegetation in place. He answered almost immediately with several observations and corrections. I've since sent him close-ups of the hangars and Restaurant.

Thanks Vin

This release will include Seasonal ground textures (Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter and Hard Winter), a Night texture, Ramp Lights (Thanks Fr Bill) that function in both FSX/Accel and P3D_V4.3. All textures were colorized to match as closely as possible the Orbx Basic ground textures. . .for those using default FSX ground textures, Spring/Summer and Hard Winter will be what most closely match your textures. Working with Bill (WND uses default textures) to try to get a decent match for Fall/Winter I found there wasn't enough brown in my pallet to get it to match, it simply ends up looking like a brown-ish satellite image laying on top of a "browner" carpet of brown.

If you have the ability, and don't care for the differences seen between the satellite ground texture (photoreal ground texture) and your default textures the only recommendation is to remove the "photo01.bgl" and use ADE to add an irregularly shaped Airport Background. It would look better IMHO and change as the seasons change. It would however, remove any trees I placed with the Annotator (you could delete the "agn files" in the texture folder). Just a recommendation. I forget that many users still have default textures. . .I've had Orbx for so long now it's become my "default". Anyway, I'll leave that decision to the individual.

Waiting to see if I hear from the guy at Cherry Ridge again tomorrow, but if not then I will package it up and post it to the SOH Downloads area. It will be a sizable download.

Will Be one More great Job....I Know This Place,Doubling the Pleasure Of revisiting it ...now on the sim THNX SIR!

Thanks Vin, nice airport. I'm sure Mike is busy, but I want to get this uploaded so I'm going with what I have now. Here are some final shots before I zip all this up and get it posted to the SOH Downloads area.

I'm going to take a look at the bushes I used for the vegetation. I don't like the fact that in the winter they remain bright green.

YEP Thats the place!..with Lake Wallenpaupack just South of it ..VERY NICE ..GREAT JOB THANKS MUCH WILL ENJOY !

Just heard from Jason Becker (Mike must have passed my emails on to him). He is in charge of the simulator and wants to use the scenery for their Pilot Trainer. I've just sent a return email with some additional info. He thought I was part of "Elite" in Florida. . .I assume that's who currently works with him and the SimSystem they use.

There is certainly a kind that gets white in hard winter. I used it at Locher. Unfortunately I'm traveling and can't check my files to see which one it is. If it's not too late I'll check that on Wednesday when I'm back.

That'll work Dimus. Now that I'm talking to Jason, I have a few questions to ask him about areas I'm unsure of on the airport. I did find out from him in a second email that they use a 200 degree wrap around Elite/P3D Simulator built inside an MU2 cockpit. . .Nice!

Ed, unfortunately I was wrong. I have the same problem at Locher, bush vegetation does not have a hard winter version. I used the Bush Creosote kind, but that does not help you I guess, it is still green.

Too bad, odd that they wouldn't have a seasonal option for bushes, but. . .oh well. Thanks for looking into it for me.

Hi
Thanks again Ed for the great scenery. If you ever have a chance to look at Long Lake, NY (NY9) its a great little seaplane base. It is somewhat improved by Orbx but still not quite the rendering you usually manage.
Thanks
Warren

I will look at it again after this next scenery. I had a go at it once before but the elevations were all over the place there and I couldn't control any of it.

Hi Ed
Again thanks. There was a pretty good rendition years ago for FS 2004 but the presentation has declined since then. As I mentioned Orbx has provided an improvement but in my view not too the level of FS2004. It's a nice spot to fly into in the middle of the Adirondacks and Helms Flying Service is still there after at least 50 years - a pair of 206s and a 185 I think.
Take care.
Warren
