Buck Rogers Thunderfighter in works for FSX

A fav for me as i grew up watching this show and its ships. Work has begun on it for some years but appears stalled from 2019. Found it at simviation. Still wip. But joping it comes.

This would be an excellent companion to Piglet's Colonial Viper!!! (Especially true as the Thunderfighter was passed over by the BSG producers in favor of the Viper and then Buck Rogers used it and saved it from being simply model history.) There are also shots in both shows where you see the control grip is identical between the real life cockpit sets of the Viper and Thunderfighter.

This actually mirrors what happened when Bertone was designing the body for the Lamborghini Urraco. Two designs were submitted and Lamborghini chose what I consider the prettier of the two. The other design went on (with minor modifications) to become the Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 which also is a great looker, just not as pretty as the Urraco IMO. (The final Urraco also had some modifications from the prototype body. Chief among them the rear louvers which extended around the sides to also cover a portion of the car behind rear side glass!)

Wish there was a way to get this going by the author. Maybe if it becomes a team effort to bring it to the sim.

This forum certainly has a reputation for resurrecting forgotten models so it's something many here might get on board with. The problem would be tracking down the developer and getting his ok and the source code if possible.

bump for the new year
I attempted to send another PM to the developer and this time his moniker came back as not found. It appears he has left permanently, so unless someone knows him personally and can contact him the project will remain unfinished.
