Danny (has someone ever called you Buck already.. ;-),

That livery with the eye makes this nasty gnat almost look cute.. Is that an original livery from the WWII period ?...

Did you notice the prop spinner of your wingman looks transparent ? (LOD issue ?..)

That's looking lovely Jankees, as always!

Would you consider doing a Belgian one with wrap around SEA camo?

Cheers,

Priller

Hehe , i loved those comics when i was a kid.
This is a orig livery. It was flown by Elias Kühlein.
There is a short (lol) description of it on the download page.

It looks like a LOD problem. But it is only visible in that "one" shot. Not on any of the others.

It was all we had back then (we meaning my older brother and me).My brother tried to build a mock-up of a 50's/60's jetfighter cockpit up in the attick but unlike today photos of such cockpits were simply not to find in the very few aviation related magazines available in those days. So for the layout of such a jetfighter cockpit as an example all he could rely on was the knowledge of drawing artist Victor Hubinon from the Buck Danny comic book series we both loved very much. I learned later that Victor Hubinon was very well informed particularly about US militairy aviation. Often even prototypes were used as subject story of a new edition. I remember f.i. 'the rivalry' between what would be later the F-4 and A-5. Another unthinkable situation compared to today was that my brother could buy just about any instrument and peripheral out of dismissed jetfighter cockpits for 10 cents per kilo at the Bram Polak dumpstore on the Waterloo plein. To my big dissapointment he later traded the lot for a 16mm camera...

So, yeah, i can say a comic book series happend to be the big instigator of my ever lasting aviation fascination. :)

Thanks Danny ! interesting read ! ( found a few photos of Kuhlein with his 'Weise 7', even in color )

Yes, i guess nothing to worry about. Thanks very much for this sort of pretty appealing livery. Now to land this beast all the way to the next check point: walk away... :untroubled:

WTF There's toobliners on the SOH screenshot forum. :)

Finally out of the Sahara and trekking across central Africa.

Ha yes, Buck Danny I still read them, Hubinon & Charlier were remarkably well informed.

Yes, amazing wasn't it ! And during the heydays of the Cold War and all...

And let's not forget Tanguy & Laverdure, they made me love the Mirage IIIC

Me too ! And i certainly didn't forget about them.... :) :

I can't remember anymore which episode it was or if it was in the Buck Danny or Tanguy & Laverdure strip (maybe both...;-) but did you know Hubinon, Charlier and Uderzo had Buck, Sonny, Thumbs and Tanguy and Laverdure meet up ?... I thought that was particularly funny and wonderful ! :)

I kinda lost interest in Tanguy & Laverdure a bit when Uderzo decided to go full speed at Asterix & Obelix and leave both his alter-egos to Jije who could certainly draw aeroplanes like he loved them too. Same happend more or less when Victor Hubinon died and Francois Bergese took over. I couldn't imagine Laurel & Hardy without one or the other neither... ;-)

I'd say keep 'em coming. But not too much. :)

Love that ATR. Wonderful external model. Not in favor of the glass cockpit. The analog one way much nicer to look at. I did one too for FS95 or something.. ;-)

I live right underneath approach path Rw 18C EHAM. Just about *never* an ATR to see. It's always Dash 8, Dash 8 and again Dash 8 (or nowadays possibly Q Series). Often wonder about that..
